Not Just Music...It's A Movement!

IT’S NOT JUST MUSIC...IT’S A MOVEMENT!!!

SCM RADIO stands for Southern Coalition Movement Radio. SCMRADIO.COM is a subsidiary of The Southern Coalition Movement and is a legally licensed ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and Sound Exchange 24/7 Hip-Hop and R&B Internet Radio Station. The sole purpose of this station is to bring listeners the hottest music from underground, independent and mainstream artists.

This radio station was launched in October 2007. At that time, the station only had one DJ and one host. They called themselves, "The Dynamic Duo of the South" with Richie Rich the Voice of the South and the Notorious DJ Splash. The Dynamic Duo's show "Straight From Da Lab" aired every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-9pm CST. Guests from across the South including La Chat, Project Pat, Arab of SOD Money Gang, Playa Fly and more, would come to the studio and talk live on the radio and sometimes even rap or freestyle.

In January 2009, SCMRADIO.COM aired its first live remote at Club Visions in Memphis, TN. The station incorporated Ustream.tv into the live broadcast so that listeners could not only listen but watch the Deejays broadcast their show. Because SCMRADIO.COM is an Internet radio station, broadcasting in more than 100 different countries, some of the music played on the station is in the French and Spanish languages. In August 2009, SCMRADIO.COM hired its first female DJ, Ms.Hypnotique. DJs have come and gone, but the few that were there in the beginning are still a part of the company.

SCMRADIO.COM has been nominated for a Southern Entertainment Award in 2009 for Best Internet Radio Station and has been included in the top 20 Internet radio stations voted by listeners worldwide, landing the number one spot in the Dirty South and Gangsta Rap Hip-Hop categories, and number 11 in the general Hip-Hop category. In 2010, SCMRADIO.COM interviewed top artists across the country including but not limited to Trina, Waka Flocka Flame, Gorilla Zoe, Gangsta Boo, Fiend, JBar, and the legendary Bobby Womack, as well as non-artists such as Miami Mike, C.E.O. of Palm Tree Ent., Grayvee of Flavor of Love 3, and Rick Ross the American Gangster.

In 2010, SCMRADIO.COM launched its community website which allows members in the music industry to create a profile to showcase their music, tracks, mixtapes, etc. and provide booking information and request forms for their fans. SCMRADIO.COM has branches in Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Texas and Missouri. While SCMRADIO.COM is a part of the Southern Coalition Movement, it does not exclude artists from other parts of the country or the world from having their music played on the radio station.

At the end of November 2010, SCMRADIO.COM launched it's sister site, "This Belongs On The Radio", which is a site dedicated to bringing some of the hottest local, underground and independent artists to the forefront. SCMRADIO.COM is looking for artists with an established fan-base or those who are trying to establish a fan-base to have their music featured on it's sister site, This Belongs On The Radio. With positive ratings and comments, artists promoted on this site will be considered for full rotation on SCMRADIO.COM.
